News and Activities

Multimedia Show at the Universal Hall, Findhorn. Friday 28th May. Adriana's multimedia "The Tideline": a sensual experience with the sea.

Fairs and Exhibitions

Findhorn dances through sun and rain! During the Sacred Dance Festival at Findhorn (10-18 July 2010) the Findhorn Foundation Craft Group organised a Craft & Art Fair on Tuesday 13th July in the Community Centre.

During the Gangaji Event at the Findhorn Foundation we held a Craft & Art Fair at Sunday 30th May in The Park, Findhorn. Adriana was one of the participants, with new stationery and handmade locally produced paper gifts.

With the Artists' Trail group we exhibited in the Moray Art Centre from 4- 19 April 2010. Here below ('Tree-seasons") one of the exhibited photo art works by Adriana Sjan Bijman.

Spear Thistle Cirsium vulgare Cluaran Deilgneach

A group of Spear Thistles in the Moray dunes. Guessing this is The Cirsium vulgare - or Cluaran Deilgneach in gaelic-scottish - which is widely spread in Scotland. This one better be called Scots Thistle instead of the Cotton or Scot thistle, which is the national Scottish emblem, but is rarely found here in Scotland. I have this all from books of course. I must say I could hardly find the difference, despite study. Another variety - thinner with smaller flowers- is the Slender Thistle. We find a lot of both kinds here. I really like these prickly beauties, however they are called officially. Some years ago I planted a thistle: the Sillybum Adriana, prickly outside, but with a soft white flower. Ah! The thistle....one of many favourites in July.

The Colourful Story of the Findhorn Garden

The famous "The Findhorn Gardens" book has been upgraded. (see cover image below centre) Inspired colour photos reveal the magic that happened in the windswept and barren sand dunes in the far north east of Scotland. Read the stories of the garden and community from the perspective of the founders of the Findhorn Foundation Community Eileen and Peter Caddy and Dorothy Maclean, as well from David Spangler and ROC. "ARCHIVED" is a project with profiles of ex-members of the Findhorn Foundation Community made by Adriana Sjan Bijman. People who now live in the community and were related to the profiled are interviewed and share some meories. (see photo collage above at the right with Muriel). More
