Eat local organic

Especially in this time of 'credit crunch' and more future economical changes, there lies a huge opportunity, the choice to decide ourselves about our own local future. We can take responsibility to support our local shops; to grow, buy and eat organic food. Find out about a Transition Town in your neighbourhood. Come'on, get off your sofa!

The photo above was taken during one of the "Wild Food Walks" end of January in the Findhorn area.

Coming out of the winter time
Findhorn Winter Solstice

Although past the real Winter Solstice, its long nights are only slowly disappearing. January and February can be really winter here in the north. During Capricorn time it is a great time to go inwards, to reflect, to retreat and be still. And to dream about the new year and all its possibilities. Read more about Solstice in the Winter Newsletter.

Entering Aquarius and having all the great constellations in the sky mid February, it always is an opportunity to see and call forth peace and harmony for humanity. May 2009 bring us all closer together in care and love for our planet, Mother Earth

Spring Equinox 2009

spring equinox

This solar festival is one of the four markers and stable points of the cosmic and Earth Energies. The Spring Equinox, or The Vernal, is close to Mother’s Day in the UK. In Greek mythology the maiden Persephone returns from the underworld, rejoices with Demeter –the Earth Mother, and once more the land can become fertile. The Mother Goddess is conceiving a child now, which will be born at the next Winter Solstice. The theme of Spring Equinox is balance, as this is the time of equal day and night all over the planet. The word “Easter” might come from Oestar or the Goddess Ishtar, being the cosmic egg of pre-Christianity. It has been an ancient tradition for people to give one another dyed eggs at Spring as symbols of the rebirth of the earth and new life after a long winter. Our children here still paint the eggs. Spring Equinox is a Gateway into the Light. There are new lambs, new flowers, new bird nests and it’s the time for (new) love!

Nature Photo Show

Multimedia show of
"The Place of the Senses"

was held at the Universal Hall, Findhorn, during the Grand Sharing at Friday 23rd January 2009. It is a story about the four wind directions, each with its own energy, colour and wisdom, told in poems and images, together with harp music from musician Barbara Swetina.

pottery Forres

On an ongoing basis I design posters, flyers, as well as audio and DVD covers. Contact me for more information.

This flyer for Forres based potter Marialaura Romagnoli with her lantern series is an example. Marialaura's feedback: "I'm very happy with the result, it is really what I wished: something simple, elegant and accurate"

Findhorn Beach Project

Findhorn Beach Project

Just outside my house the sea and the endless sandy beach of Findhorn with its pebbles perform an ever changing seascape. This beach has called me to make it part of the "World Beach Project"

a global art project, started by artist Sue Lawty for the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. I have been creating lots of pebble and rock “sculptures” on the beach, in all kinds of weather over the last months. Here above is one of them. In extreme cold on a Sunday in February the tide was coming in as I offered these stones to the Water Goddess.

Spring- Imbolc 2009

Celtic Imbolc images

The Spring Festival in the Celtic Wheel of the Year at the 1st of February, is called Imbolc, or “Oimelc”; an older name relating to the milk of the ewes. The Goddess Brighid was central in Celtic agricultural. We still make Bridhed’s Crosses, woven from last year’s straw or wheat, hung around the house for protection. Imbolc is one of the four Fire festivals and the Maiden is central. Stories are told from a past with rituals around love and sex for the young unmarried girls. The Maiden, as one of the three aspects of the Mother Goddess, will become One with the Earth and become fertile (pregnant). The first sowings are done in honour of Brighid, the seed is blessed and good crops for the long growing season are asked for.
