Visitors at the Findhorn gardens: this Autumn we had lots of beautiful butterflies like this Red Admiral (Vanessa Atalanta) and the Peacock butterfies (Inachis io).

Feedback on photos made by Adriana Sjan Bijman:
"Thank you so much for this photo-session - it is such an uncomfortable thing for me to have my picture taken - you made it much easier."
Hundreds of fresh fragrant rose petals with gentle candle lights. For everyone in need of the healing light.

Today is a beautiful new day.
But what if everything seems to go wrong, can we still receive it as a gift?
"YES WE CAN"
At 17th November the Findhorn Foundation Community has celebrated its 46th Birthday. The heritage of the founders, Eileen and Peter Caddy with Dorothy Maclean is rich and alive in a wide variety of colours and shapes. See more of the Findhorn Foundation at www.findhorn.org.

This page grew as the season passed, from the Autumn Equinox in September until the Winter Solstice at 22nd of December. One of the four Solar Festivals int he Wheel of the Year. Yule, as this Midwintertime is also called, with -here in the north- the longest dark nights. Magic midwinter with bonfires (to bring the light back) and evergreen decorations to persuade the other greens to grow again. Deep ancient collective images (far before Christianity) of the Mother Goddess giving birth to the Sun(God). This forms the origins of Christmas celebrations across the world. The time to go inwards, to walk the spiral or labyrinth of our past year and for the next year. As we do here at Findhorn, while enjoying the winter frost. While waiting for the colourful Northern Lights (Areola Borealis) to appear at our skies. While welcoming the new year and the Community Angel of "Surrender" for 2009. Happy New Year to you.

thank you all gardeners, thank you garden. There was a celebration in the Universal Hall in Findhorn at 2 Oct 2008, with lots of images from past & present, including a digital photo- with poetry show about the book "Gifts from the Findhorn Gardens".
Great gifts during all kind of winter celebrations: we have fabulous new notebooks amongst which the Findhorn Gardens in winter (image below), the River (below) as well as a large variety of
Midwinter blessing cards of Light.

There is a history of stories around Randolph's Leap. Not only about Randolph, but of the place itself, where the veil to the other world is said to be thinner; land where the fairies live. But one day, while meandering along and with the Findhorn river in these fairy woods at Randolp's Leap, it was the trees themselves that made their images as I - totally 'high' by their beauty and colours - just was their tool; their instrument.
The series started during the 46th's Birthday of the Findhorn Foundation Community mid November, when I asked a dozen of people by who or by what in the community they were inspired over the last week. With surprising, touching and nice answers. See more at Findhorn People. Or submit YOUR answer on the blog.

"I am inspired by the Island of Erraid and by our youth, who really enjoyed to the fullest while respecting the Erraid community life, during their visit there. I am inspired by the welcoming abundance; the generous energy of the Erraid community, despite only being with 3 people to run it! They embraced the crazy, wild teenager energy with an open heart. That impressed and inspired me."

Collect leaves, cut out your pumpkins, bake apples and light the candles during this time of transformation:
You might know it as Hallowe'en. Since millennia people have been celebrating Samhain in this part of the world, Britain. Samhain is one of the eight main ancient festivals in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, as well its year’s end. With Cailleach, the Crone Goddess of the Celtic World we acknowledge the coming around of the year circle. This is a time of decay, letting go and releasing the old to die; to be transformed. It is also a time to recall the memory of beloved ones who are gone. It is said the veil that divides the worlds is thin at this time around the 1st of November. It seems to be easier to feel the connection with ‘the other side’ if we open up for all the invisible beings in the spiritual realms as well as in the nature Kingdoms. Blessings and Gratitude for all Life, for the good of the whole.
